Terms and Conditions

We are very keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible and try to be as accommodating as we can to meet your individual requests. However we do not accept dogs and there are no fireworks allowed. The following must also be adhered to:

Noise and neighbours:

1. If you are partying late at night (after 11pm), please ensure the doors and windows are shut. To ensure the music stays at a reasonable level, please use the speakers provided. PA systems and large speakers are not permitted.

2. Do not gather outside the house to party after dark.
If we get complaints, and your party has not respected the regulations regarding noise levels, you’ll lose your deposit.
Any breakages must be paid for, and if you happen to stain a carpet, then they should be cleaned immediately.

Your booking is only confirmed on receipt of your deposit and completed booking form, and we do not accept any responsibility should either be late and in the meantime we receive a confirmed booking from another party.

In the event of cancellation or should you for any reason have to leave early, we will do our best to re-let The Old Rectory. If we are successful in re-letting at the same cost we will refund your deposit less a fifty pounds administration charge. Please note that it is imperative that your booking is complete eight weeks before the start of your holiday, failure to comply with this condition may be taken as a cancellation. Should we be unable to re-let (through short notice cancellation or similar) you are liable for the full fee and therefore, we strongly recommend that you take out low cost cancellation insurance (available from any High Street insurance broker) for peace of mind.

We provide linen such as sheets, duvets and covers but not towels. We also undertake general cleaning after your stay but ask that the house is left in more or less the same state as when you arrived and the crockery cleaned. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen. We do not provide logs for the open fires.

An additional two hundred pounds deposit by cheque drawn on a UK bank is required against damages. This will only be cashed if needed and if not will be torn up at the end of your holiday. In the unlikely event of any damage being done or the property being left in an unsatisfactory condition, the owners reserve the right to impose a reasonable charge to return the property to the condition it was in at the beginning of the let.

We also accept no liability for either loss or damage to personal effects or for personal accident or injury. We advise you to take out your own insurance to cover these.

We reserve the right to refuse any booking and to cancel any booking already made if the property becomes unavailable, subject to our refunding any sums you have paid. We will not be liable for any further obligations or claims by the client.

Weekend bookings run from 4 p.m. on Friday ’til 5 p.m. Sunday. There is a charge of £400 if you wish to include a third night, in which case the let runs until 10 a.m. on the Monday.

Weekly lets run from Friday 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. on the following Friday. Mid week and Monday to Friday lets by arrangement.

The Old Rectory does not provide towels for the bathrooms or logs for the fireplaces.

There is a charge for central heating of £50 per night for weekend lets and a £250 charge for weekly lets.
